A small Dutch company with a longer record than its size suggests.
LumosTech B.V. is registered in Tilburg and has been building software since 2023. Most of what we know, though, came from the fifteen years before that — running services on mobile operator networks, deploying connected devices, and finding out the hard way which parts of a digital product actually decide whether it survives.
Why this company works the way it does.
I have spent most of my working life on the unglamorous side of digital products: services billed through mobile operators in markets where the network is unreliable and the margin is thin; screens and devices deployed in places where somebody has to drive out if the software is wrong; platforms that had to reconcile with a finance department that was not interested in excuses.
What that teaches you is that the interesting engineering problem is almost never the one people start with. The demo is not hard. What is hard is the second month — when real usage arrives, the integration behaves differently than the documentation promised, and someone has to decide quickly and correctly.
LumosTech is built for that part. It is deliberately small, because the value is in judgement rather than head count, and judgement does not scale by hiring. It is deliberately selective, because the only way a small team does excellent work is by not doing most of the work available to it.
And it is deliberately plain-spoken. If your project is not a good fit for us, you will hear it in the first reply. That has cost us engagements. It has never cost us a client.

Founder and Managing Director, LumosTech B.V.
Hassan Asgharian — founder and managing director. PhD in computer engineering.
Dutch company, international work.
LumosTech B.V. is the contracting party for everything we do. Clients and partners deal with one Dutch legal entity, under Dutch and European law, whichever market the product ends up serving.
Work is delivered by our own team and, for some engagements, by long-standing development partners working to our architecture and under our contract. The responsibility does not move: it stays with us.
We work in English and Dutch, and the founder also works in Persian.
Kept honest, kept separate.
The founder holds a doctorate in computer engineering and maintains active interests in Industry 4.0 and 5.0, digital twins, industrial IoT and AI governance, including collaboration with applied-sciences institutions.
It shapes how we think about connected systems and long-lived architecture. It does not turn a client engagement into a research project — those are different things and we keep them that way.
If you are an institution looking for an industry partner on applied work in these areas, we would like to hear from you.
